Psalm 2
The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed
1 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”
7 I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Didn’t mean to skip yesterday, sorry! But here’s thoughts on Psalm 2. So before I begin I just wanted to highlight verse 4 where he states “He who sits in the heavens laughs;”. I always wondered if sometimes God sits in heaven amused by some of my arrogant decrees that go against him and now I know that He does! haha j/p. Seriously though I love this chapter because of how awesome God is. Here he’s talking about the strongest most powerful humans in the world and God is still SO much bigger than they are. It really makes those verses in the Bible that talk about if He is for us who can be against us stand out so much more. Seriously, if God is on your side, what do you have to be afraid of? Absolutely nothing! The Messeniac tone is palpable in this chapter as well. It is Christ who takes the throne as ruler and judge of all. But it is only through Christ that the nations are saved and gentiles, of which I am included, blessed. There’s more that I want to write about but I might end it at that as I need to get some sleep tonight.
In accordance with the speak of nations and ends of the earth in this chapter. I will switch gears and begin to blog about some different countries beginning from tomorrow!
